中文釋義：重要卻難以回答的問題
在國內，很多人會把定義的翻譯(即釋義)用在文句裏頭，殊不知，釋義跟翻譯是兩碼子事，前者只是一個籠統的概念，後者才是成語用於文句中的語意，以free dictionary 的例句So will she marry him or not? - that's the million-dollar question。來說， 其意就是：那她會不會嫁他--這是大家最想知道的問題。是不是這樣的意思? 可再拿一個例句來驗證：
The U.N. special envoy to Burma was there over the weekend, demanding to see Suu Kyi and calling on the world to step up pressure on the junta. But is it too late to influence the generals? "that's the million-dollar question, " says Aung Zaw, the editor of Irrawaddy magazine.
聯合國派往緬甸的特使本周末抵達緬甸，要求會見蘇姬，並呼籲世人向緬甸軍團施壓，但現在向這些將領施壓是否太晚了? 「這是大家最想知道的問題，」Irrawaddy雜誌的編輯安查說。
其實，翻譯正不正確，查看中文文句像不像我們說的白話就知道了。
