從有英文教育開始就不斷被錯誤翻譯的英文字：gesture
She made a rude gesture at the other driver. 她對另一個司機做了個粗魯的手勢。(劍橋)
眉批：made a gesture of apology 中文說「做出道歉的動作」，沒有人說「道歉的手勢」。

1. He raised his hands in a despairing gesture. 他舉起雙手，做出絕望動作。
2. I invited them to dinner, a gesture of goodwill. 我請他們吃飯，以為善意的表示。
3. He dropped his trousers in a rude gesture. 他脫下褲子，做出粗魯的動作。
4. He made an obscene gesture. 他做出猥褻的動作。
5. Her gesture was indicative of contempt. 他的動作表示輕蔑。
